“Disabled people” or “Disabled Society”?

Being a sensitive person, you might’ve helped some alleged “Disabled/ Divyaang/Specially Abled”. Besides, how many of you have actually given a thought to “why are they disabled? What stops them from a normal life, normal opportunities?"

Here, you will go like “Can’t you see, it's due to the absence or malfunction of a body organ?”

My answer would be “Don’t you think, we all have some kinds of deficiencies in some ways? Some lack financial aid, some lack good contacts, some lack resources and some even lack common sense.”

So, are we all ‘disabled’?

The answer would be ‘Yes, we are’.

Answer this, “When do you consider someone, “Disabled/Divyaang/Specially Abled”?

Let me explain,

In the scenario, you have gone for an ice-cream treat with your gang to an ice-cream parlour. It is just a coincidence, everyone except you loves Chocolate and unfortunately, the parlour has run out of every other flavour except chocolate. It is too late to go to another parlour. Everyone is enjoying his or her chocolate. You on the other hand have to compromise with a chocolate one too.

Now think, “Are you kind of ‘disabled’ here?”

You would say, “No, that’s not it. The ice-cream parlour is out of the service that could have suited me the best. If it is then, it’s the faulty or unfavourable condition that makes me feel that way.” You got my point.

Here is my point, now think of alleged “disabled” in our society. Each time an alleged “disabled” fails to perform action normally(i.e. without ease) at something or someplace like a person who’s facing a tough time going through the stairs to reach an apartment in a residential complex, there is some deficiency in the environmental factors behind that.

Conclusion

Environmental factors induce Disability and we all can be a ‘disable’ in unfavourable circumstances. So, considering Society as the environmental factors like infrastructure, people’s conservative perspectives, “Society is disabled, never the people.”

Finally, I ask you another question, “What can eliminate these environmental factors?”

Think about it.
