Educate a blind student with Veeery
India is home to more than 1/3rd of the world's visually abled population. According to a report of NPCB India has more than 12 million individuals with visual impairment as against the global of 39 million.
Out of which only 29.16% of blind are part of the education system – according to a survey by NCERT. In the same survey it was revealed that only 6.86% of schools have access to braille books and audio content.
In a survey conducted by our team these are the list of problems we uncovered that visually disabled student’s face.
After this survey we unravelled various critical issues that needed to be addressed. We discovered that the majority of the students are facing understanding problems and purchasing problems. This is due to unavailability of the content and their high prices.
Also, while we talked to these school students of age 9 to 11 years; they mentioned how difficult it is for them to read from braille sheets, they have to understand a whole paragraph letter by letter.
We decided to work out these issues. Hence, the core work here is to explain the written text into audio versions. These audios are human voiced which will provide ease of understanding. Today with the help of Veeery.com more than 500 visually impaired school children are able to study by themselves at any time they need.
In Uttar Pradesh itself there are 35000+ children who are visually impaired. Help them to study.
Once you donate, we will send you the name and photo of the child you are supporting.
